Coombsville AVA within Napa County.

Terra Coombsville is located within the Coombsville AVA. Nestled in the foothills of the Vaca Mountains, the Coombsville AVA is a notable Napa Valley region with a mild climate located directly east of the City of Napa. It was officially recognized as a sub-appellation of Napa Valley in 2011, making it the newest nested appellation in the area and one of the less explored ones. Coombsville stretches from the western outskirts of Napa town up the slopes of Mt. George. The volcanic soil and its proximity to the Bay result in a foggy and breezy environment.

Thanks to its nearness to the San Pablo Bay, Coombsville enjoys cooler weather compared to AVAs situated farther north. Shaped like a horseshoe, the unique topography and varying elevations create a microclimate in the Coombsville Viticultural Area, offering protection from fog with high ridges surrounding the basin. This distinctive setting influences factors like precipitation and heat accumulation in the region.
